I'm writing from the wonderful post library again. We completed the 8K ruck march at the end of the three day field exercise on Thursday, we returned our weapons on Friday, and yesterday we did the physical fitness test. We'll turn in our TA-50 (armor, helmet, alice pack, wet weather gear, sleeping bags, etc.) tomorrow. Tuesday is Family Day and graduation is on Wednesday. WTC NCOs will have to spend an additional week in an NCO course here at Fort Sill. From what I've heard, we'll spend all our time in a classroom environment, go to chow on our own, and have pass each evening. These are significant improvements over WTC, but what will make it better or worse are the people. Everyone in the course will be a sergeant, a leader by definition, but not necessarily by ability. Slowly, incrementally, I'm getting closer to going home. |
